Therapeutics; Infection Control and Prevention

A therapy, often known as a medical treatment, is an attempt to treat a health problem following a medical diagnosis. The branch of medicine that deals especially with disease treatment and the art and science of healing. Therapeutics refers to the use of medications and the technique of their delivery in the treatment of disease in pharmacology. Therapeutics can be used in patients with active disease to cure the disease or its symptoms, as well as in preventative medicine and palliative care.

Infection control in healthcare settings prevents or slows the spread of infections. Infection prevention and control (IPC) is a practical, evidence-based method to preventing preventable infections from harming patients and health professionals. In the field of patient safety and quality of care, IPC is unique in that it is universally applicable to every health worker and patient at every health care encounter.
